Throughout the school year, students will gain knowledge and understanding of important adult and peer supporters who impact his/her life. How boundaries and expectations effect our attitude towards school and our constructive use of time. The importance of feeling value of empowerment given by adults and peers. The 40 Developmental Assets are introduced in Life Skills and incorporated in the GISD curriculum.

Students will identify the characteristics of an Asset Builder and the importance of having Support, Empowerment, Boundaries/Expectations and Constructive use of Time while:

Reading novels, short stories, and the discussion of historical event, leaders and listening to lyrics in music.

Each student will then look within themselves and identify which Assets are the strongest and why.

Implement them by becoming Asset Builders
