Mrs. Elliott's Class
Welcome to 5th grade!

My name is Ella Elliott, a tongue twister I know! I am very excited about this year at McCoy. This is my Second year here and my 5th year teaching 5th grade. I know that we will have an excellent school year and look forward to communicating with you all. 5th grade is a big change for most students so if there is ever anything that I can do to help your scholar please do not hesitate to ask. Parent communication is very important to me! I make calls for both concerns but to also rejoice in your students success.

I've been asked many time by my students "why do you like being a teacher?" This is an easy question for me to answer. The fact that I can help a scholar learn to love learning is beyond cool! To help instill a desire to learn and never stop learning is such a precious gift I've been given.

I joke with many of my friends that I go from having no kids in August to at least 50 in one day! But it's true, I care for each child like they were my own. A quote I have found to be very true and has become my mantra in my career is "Kids don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care!" I care alot!!

This school year will be a "little different" than any year for me as I am expecting my first child around September 14thish. I have found a wonderful certified teacher to take my place until I come back. I look forward to working with her and you to ensure that your scholar never misses a step.
