Welcome to 2nd grade! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to spend time with your child throughout the coming school year. I have been at Carver for 5 years. I started as a parent/PTA board member in 2005, then a substitute in the fall of 2008, then a Literacy paraprofessional in the spring of 2009. I am so excited to now be teaching 2nd grade!
A little about myself: I was born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in the Dallas and Austin areas. I have been married for almost 17 years and have two beautiful children. My son, Connor, age 9, started 4th grade at Pickett this year. My daughter Nicole, who will turn 8 in September, is in the 2nd grade. Shortly after we were married, my husband was transferred to Virginia. I graduated Cum Laude from Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education. We then realized Texas was home. So, in 1996 we moved to Georgetown where I taught 5th grade at McCoy Elementary until 2000.
My goal for my students is to develop a love for learning in a stimulating and challenging environment to grow both intellectually and socially.
