TAKS Reading

This class offers instruction in word recognition, comprehension strategies, and vocabulary to ensure that students have an opportunity to read with competence, confidence, and understanding.

The students are given opportunities to locate information in varied sources, to read critically, to evaluate sources, and to draw supportable conclusions.

They will learn how various texts are organized and how authors choose language for effect.  All of these strategies are applied in texts that cross the subject fields.
