Williams did well at the UIL Competition. Ellie Klein received 1st place in the Ready Writing category. Caleb Madole received 2nd place in Spelling, and John VerColen received 3rd place in Number Sense. The Science Fair was a huge success with 71 entries by 111 students. 15 entries qualified to |

participate in the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival on February 23rd. The Williams Choir represented us proudly while singing the National Anthem before the GHS basketball game on January 29th, and received a hearty round of applause from the fans. |

Important Dates through the End of the School Year FEBRUARY
Feb 8 Muffins with Moms - in the cafeteria 7:10-7:50am Feb 9 Family Fun Day - PTA is providing light snacks as a way to promote Texas PTA’s Healthy Lifestyles campaign Feb 11-15 PTA’s Take Your Family to School Week - consider spending lunch with your child at school or joining him in gym or library one day this week Feb 14 Valentine’s Parties – 3rd grade 12:30, 4th&5th grades 2:00 Feb 22 End of 2nd Box Tops/Labels Contest- send in box tops and labels for extra recess for your child’s grade TBA TAKS Snacks Preparation – volunteers needed to help put together snack bags to be given to the students on TAKS test days MARCH
March 3 General PTA Meeting followed by PTA Board Meeting – general meeting will begin at 6:30pm in the Library to elect a Nominating Committee for next year’s board members and will be followed by a board meeting March 6 CiCi’s Pizza Night and 5th Grade Art Show - Art from our 5th Graders will be displayed at CiCi’s and the funds raised that night will go to the Art program April
April 1 4th Grade Musical Alamo, PTA General Meeting 6:15pm April 2 Last CiCi’s Pizza Night April 7 PTA Board Meeting - 6:30 in the Library TBA TAKS Snacks Preparation – volunteers needed to put together snack bags for April testing
