Dear Williams Elementary
Parents,
We are deeply involved
and focused on our studies at Williams Elementary. This semester is an
important learning time for all of our students. Our teachers are ensuring
that each child is on grade level and is prepared to show that learning
through his/her grades and performance on the TAKS tests.
If a student is not
progressing at the rate at which they are expected, we are offering extra
opportunities for assistance. Our 7:15 a.m. tutorials continue and our
Title, as well as homeroom teachers, are working extra with students before
school as well as during any available time during the school day. I am so
proud of our students and staff for putting in these extra efforts. They
will pay off in the form of higher level learning and successful
performance.
I greatly appreciate the
partnership that has developed between our school and our parents.
Overwhelmingly, Williams Elementary parents are eager and willing to do
whatever is necessary for our children to succeed at the high level expected
in Texas. Please continue to read with your child, ask about school, help
them with learning their math facts and check the EAGLE folder each
Thursday. We so greatly appreciate this support and partnership! Parents
are the most influential persons in a child’s life.
Congratulations to all our
students who participated in the UIL events and SCIENCE FAIR this year.
This is the first year that we have offered these two valuable events.
Special thanks to PTA board member Dierdre Madole and 4th grade
teacher, Lorraine Bonsall, for leading these activities!
Lots of activities are
planned for this spring semester. Please remember to put these events on
your home calendar. We are 100% committed at Williams Elementary to
ensuring that we have a positive, safe, caring and loving school climate
that children can successfully live, learn and participate in.
Again, thanks for sharing
your child with us. We are climbing the mountain together! Please call us
if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
With PRIDE,
Cheryl Lang
