Pickett Elementary is named for Mrs. Dell Pickett, a former educator and administrator for 25 years with Georgetown I.S.D.
This school first opened its doors as a sixth grade center in August of 1993. Pickett was one of the first schools in Georgetown to have students and teachers provide direct input on virtually every aspect of the school's design. Students even painted and glazed the tiles used in the interior of the school.
Pickett became an elementary school in 1995 and serves students in grades Pre-kindergarten through 5th grade.
Our school population is currently around 335 students with about 50 staff members. Pickett Elementary is one of 10 elementary schools in Georgetown. Students that attend Pickett Elementary will go to Tippit Middle School for grades 6-8 and most will attend East View High School for grades 9-12.
