Welcome to the Williams Elementary Library!
After 13 years of being a classroom teacher in Georgetown ISD, to many amazing groups of kids, I am ready to begin my journey as the Williams Elementary school librarian. I began my career in GISD as a Kindergarten teacher at Annie Purl for one year and have been a dual language Kindergarten teacher and reading/math interventionist at Mitchell Elementary for the past 12 years.
My dream of becoming a school librarian is based on the positive interactions with my own childhood school librarians. Reading and checking out books in the school library was the highlight of my week as a child! My hope is that I can make an impact on multiple students' lives, by introducing them to the love of reading, research, and collaboration through extending their classroom learning into the library. I will strive to make it a place our students can learn with confidence and support.
Upon graduating from Georgetown HS in 1992, I received my bachelors degree in elementary education from The University of Texas at Austin and am currently finishing my masters degree in Library Information Science at The University of North Texas. I have been married for 24 years and have two daughters. My oldest daughter currently attends Southwestern University and my youngest will attend The University of Texas at Austin this fall, both of them are graduates of East View HS here in Georgetown.
