GISD Students may earn high school credit outside of the regular school day by taking online correspondence courses. The course must be through an accredited institution and approved by the State of Texas. Below are a some options:
    Texas Tech (TTUISD): http://www.depts.ttu.edu/ttuisd/

    Credit by Exam/Exam for Acceleration
Students may earn credit for a class in which the student has not yet received instruction, by taking an "Exam for Acceleration."  Students must earn a score of 90 or higher to earn credit.
Exams are ordered by the student either through Texas Tech High School (https://www.depts.ttu.edu/uc/ec2k/SignIn.asp) or UT High School (http://www.utexas.edu/ce/k16/cbe-ea/about/) and are proctored by a counselor. Students/parents must purchase the exam online.
GISD also offers exams for acceleration free of charge. Click here for more information, and don't forget to visit your counselor for approval.
***Correspondance Courses and CBE's will go on a students transcript, but will not be factored into their GPA or rank.
