My name is Stacey Whitten. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and I am definitely living my passion. I received my Bachelors in Speech Communications and my Masters in Elelmentary Education from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. I met my husband Brian at AC, and we married in July of 1992. We have four children. Connor is 23, and attends Midwestern University. Emma is 21 and attends Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. Max is 14 and will be a freshman at Georgetown High School this year. Our youngest, Tong Tong, joined our family from China two years ago, and he will be in 3rd grade this year at Cooper.

I have taught preschool at First Baptist Georgetown. I have also taught in Seguin ISD, Pflugerville ISD and Georgetown ISD throughout my career. My experiences have been in 5th grade, 4th grade and mostly 3rd grade. I also spent some time as a Math interventionist. I have a passion for teaching and for children. I love my job, and nothing is more exciting to me than to see my students become enthusiastic about learning. I make learning as hands-on and "real" as possible for my kids because I want them to experience these concepts first hand, not just read about them. This year will be my sixth year at Cooper, and my second year teaching 4th grade. I'm looking forward to another fabulous year!

I believe that parents, teachers and students work together as a team to help each child to come as far as possible in this school year. We are a team in developing our kids academically, developmentally and socially. For this reason, communication is important to me. I will do my best to return calls and emails as soon as I can.
