Welcome to my home page! My name is Rebecca Lauer and I am excited to begin another school year at Carver Elementary as the dyslexic interventionist. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in education and a specialization in reading. Having spent 15 years in the classroom teaching first and second grade, I recognized my love for teaching reading and giving students the skills to become life-long readers. My oldest son was identified with dyslexia in the second grade and I became interested in ways I could support him in and out of the classroom. Being able to help teach my son and other dyslexic students how to read and feel successful about themselves is such an honor. I currently live in Georgetown with my two fabulous boys! I look forward to a wonderful school year and working with Carver students.
