My Education & Teaching Background
I attended Southwestern University here in Georgetown, Texas. My first year teaching, I taught 3rd grade in Bastrop, Texas. From there, I spent four years in Round Rock teaching 3rd and 2nd, before coming to Georgetown. For five years, I taught Kindergarten at Carver, before coming to Pickett to teach 3rd. After six years of teaching 3rd grade, I was ready for a new challenge, so this year, I am teaching 5th grade Math.
I live in Georgetown with my husband and our two children. Sydney is eleven, in 6th grade. John Patrick is nine and in 4th grade this year. My family and I love going to ballet and theater performances, museums, and theme parks. We also have a Catahoula Leopard dog / Great Dane mix rescue dog named Nola Gray who is certainly a member of the family.
My Philosophy of Education
I believe every student can and should love coming to school and be successful in their learning. To achieve that goal, I encourage students to be responsible for their education and experience as much independence as possible.
If you ever have a question or concern, please give me a call or send me an e-mail. You are the expert on your child and I am counting on your help and support this year and want you to know that I will help and support you as well. It takes a village to raise a child, and I am thrilled to be a part of your child's village!
