My Education & Teaching Background
I attended Southwestern University here in Georgetown, Texas. My first year teaching, I taught 3rd grade in Bastrop, Texas. From there, I spent four years in Round Rock teaching 3rd and 2nd, before coming to Georgetown. For five years, I taught Kindergarten at Carver, before coming to Pickett to teach 3rd. After six years of teaching 3rd grade, I was ready for a new challengeand moved to 5th grade Math.
I live in Georgetown with my husband and our two children. Sydney is twelve and in 7th grade. John Patrick is ten and is in 5th grade here at Pickett. My family and I love going to ballet and theater performances, museums, and theme parks. We also have a Catahoula Leopard dog / Great Dane mix rescue dog named Nola Gray who is certainly a member of the family.
My Philosophy of Education
I believe every student can and should love coming to school and be successful in their learning. To achieve that goal, I encourage students to be responsible for their education and experience as much independence as possible.
If you ever have a question or concern, please give me a call or send me an e-mail. You are the expert on your child and I am counting on your help and support this year and want you to know that I will help and support you as well. It takes a village to raise a child, and I am thrilled to be a part of your child's village!
