Mr. Hood comes to Wagner with one year of experience teaching science in the classroom, as well as a year of experience working as an environmental educator for nonprofits in Austin, TX and Boston, MA. Outside of education, he has worked as a Life Scientist for the EPA, as well as a Solar Designer for multiple solar companies. He previously worked as a 6th Grade Science teacher at Dobie Middle School AISD.
He holds his degree in Environmental Science & Policy from St. Edward's University - Austin, TX.
Mr. Hood is most excited to join the stellar team of educators at Wagner in making learning creative and engaging, as well as inspiring students to be curious of the world around them!
Outside of work, Mr. Hood enjoys hiking, swimming, running, exploring nature, baking pies, eating delicious baked-goods, reading (tons of Ray Bradbury)!!, listening to live music, photography, playing bass/guitar and probably talking about something Science related. He is married to his best friend, and in his opinion, the coolest person on earth! He has a dog named Kiwi, who's from the streets of Puerto Rico. But, if you ask her (assuming you're Doctor Dolittle), she prefers her new home with AC, a comfortable couch to nap on, and unlimited kibble.
