• After graduating from The University of Texas at El Paso with a creative writing degree, I began my career as a classroom teacher.  The 2022-2023 school year is my seventeenth year in education.

I am committed to teaching English and language arts to help students acquire knowledge, develop skills, and achieve their intellectual and creative goals. I’ve communicated regularly—in some cases daily—with parents/guardians to support students’ educational progress, performed modifications and accommodations based on special needs of students, and coached a junior varsity basketball team.

Raised in a single parent, Hispanic household, I continually reconstructed and navigated my social landscape in each of the fourteen Texas cities in which I have lived. Because of my life experience, I can identify with a variety of students and establish strong relationships with them in order to develop a positive learning environment. I can provide not only a rich blend of cultural experiences to young students, but also a decided academic advantage, as I have conducted Pre-AP, Humanities, International Baccalaureate, and SAT preparatory classes.
