Technology Lending for GISD Families and Staff

  • Wifi Hotspots are now available for pick up.

    MOBILE WI-FI HOTSPOT LENDING

     Anyone needing a hotspot can call 512-943-5005 or email parents@georgetownisd.org and arrange for one.  That includes staff and students.  

    Devices will be sanitized and distributed through at the GISD Technology & Nutrition Center at 603 Lakeway Drive. 

    Note: GISD is an essential business under the Williamson County Stay Safe Stay Home order, and families participating in check-out are engaged in essential travel under the order.

Technology Discounts for Families

  • Many families are contacting us asking how they can purchase their own technology at a discount rather than borrowing from the district.  GISD has partnered with these vendors who have created special pricing and options to support our students during closures to support learning at home.  Please consider purchasing while the pricing remains low.
     
    *Important Notes:  Technology you buy from our partner vendors does not come configured with GISD software.  Although students can accomplish most learning tasks with simply Google Chrome browser and internet connection, some high school classes require specific software.  GISD cannot make this software available but will provide district laptops for these students to borrow.  GISD does not provide technical support for personal devices you purchase.

        Please allow 24-48 hours to receive a Welcome Message which includes login information
        At first log in - Click on ‘password link’ to create a unique password. 
        Login and begin ordering. Account #, User ID and unique password are credentials required to login – all included in the ‘Welcome to Staples’ message.
        Once logged in you will be asked to verify shipping address.  If correct, press OK.
        Next screen, click YOUR LISTS, the Chromebook/Parent Program to see items
        Screen 1 -  verifies shipping address – if correct, press OK.
        Screen 2 -   Click YOUR LISTS, then Chromebook/Parent Program
        Put items in their cart and check out with a credit card.
