Credit by Exam for Acceleration in GISD
-
Credit by Exam for Acceleration (CBE) and ACTFL Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages® (AAPPL)are assessment options that afford students the opportunity for promotion to the next grade level (K-5) and to gain course credit (6-12) for all. In order to qualify for this type of CBE, a student cannot have any prior instruction in the grade level or course for which they are seeking credit. Provision for this assessment is required by law (Texas Administrative Code §74.24). CBE's for subjects other than languages other than English are administered by the University of Texas for acceleration exams. Languages other than English are administered by AAPPL.

Assessments & Assessment Windows

GISD will be offering hybrid testing sessions due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Some testing windows afford students and their families the ability to select an at home, online, remotely proctored exam or a traditional exam proctored at a GISD facility. These options and dates are subject to change.
