College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR)
In collaboration with GISD's Department of College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR), the school counselors work with students to explore career interests and develop plans for success.
In sixth grade, students will take career interest inventories and explore options.
In seventh grade, students have the option to take courses for high school credit, while continuing to explore career options.
In eighth grade, students have the option to take courses for high school credit, explore career options, and begin to learn about graduation requirements and the process of "four-year planning."
We will be using Naviance for career interest inventories and career planning. This program will help students plan their four years in high school with specific courses that align with the career interests they discover in the process. Part of this process includes learning about the Career Technology Courses (CTE) that students can take in high school.
