Kaila Payne - 6th Grade Math Teacher
Kaila Payne serves Wagner as a 6th grade Math teacher. She has 4 years of experience in the education field and has previously served as an instructional assistant and Special Education teacher for math and inclusion. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Vanguard University of Southern California and a Masters in Educational Technology. She is currently also serving as an adjunct professor for the Vanguard University of Southern California. Starting in the Fall of 2021, she hopes to begin working on her doctorate degree.
Outside of teaching, Ms Payne enjoys spending time with her family of nine children (ages 16-3). She says you can usually find her family on the field, in a gym, or at the park. They cherish their time together and try to do as much as they can as a family. Ms Payne is originally from California and her family loves the water! They try to get it in as much as they can here in Texas by visiting the pool, water park, Blue Hole and Lady Bird Lake. Occasionally, they are able to take trips to the coast to catch some waves.
When asked what excites her the most about working at Wagner, her reply is, "I'm most looking forward to being able to collaborate with other rockstar professionals who share a similar passion for creating innovative and captivating learning opportunities for our students through the integration of technology."
