Coach Braun enters his 23rd year as a teacher and coach at Georgetown High School. He is excited about the 2021 cross country season. Between both the girls and boys team, only 1 senior graduated from last year’s team. The current team’s depth and experience set them up for a successful season.

Coach Braun has led the Eagle cross country team to 14 district championships. His boy’s teams have won 2 Regional Championships and have 12 State appearances. Coach Braun became the girl’s head coach in 2019 after the retirement of long time Lady Eagle cross country coach Kellye Richardson. In the two years under Coach Braun, the girls have won consecutive district championships and have two State appearances.

Blue runs through Coach Braun’s veins as he is a 1993 graduate of Georgetown High School and he is a big believer in Eagle Fight Never Dies! He graduated from Sam Houston State University where he also ran for the Bearkats cross country and track teams. After college, Coach Braun returned to his home town and has spent the last 23 years building the cross country and track program into one of the best in the state of Texas.

Coach Braun is married to his wife Hollee who is an administrator in Georgetown ISD. He has 3 children, Hannah, Kaya, and Luke. Hannah is a recent graduate of the University of Texas, Kaya is a student and soccer player for the University of Virginia, and Luke is a sophomore at GHS. During his free time, Coach Braun likes to stream a good TV show, collects comic books, and is busily planning his next vacation to Disney World.
