"There are only two ways to live your life! One is though nothing is a miracle. The other as though everything is a miracle."
Hi! My name is Julie Michelle Brooks, and I teach 3rd grade math and science. I am absolutely THRILLED about working with you and your child to make this 3rd grade year the most miraculous year of their life and to help your child find a confidence and a lifelong passion for math and science!
I have been teaching for 29 years, and this is my 12th year at WONDERFUL Village Elementary! I have taught 5th grade, 4th grade, 3rd grade, and 1st grade in Atlanta, Georgia, Austin,Texas, 3 summers in Eastern Europe and now Georgetown. I graduated from the amazing college of Mississippi State University with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education...GO BULLDOGS! I also earned my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee.
My wonderful husband Jon and I have been married for 21 years and are so blessed by our 3 kids! Our Shelby is a senior at The University of Texas (Hook 'em), our Avery is in 11th grade at Georgetown High School, and our Cole is in 10th grade at Georgetown High School.
My passions in life are: spending time with my family, watching college football, writing, Orange Theory Fitness, traveling, drinking Starbucks coffee, eating chocolate, going to church, and teaching kids!
Some fun facts are I have traveled to 13 countries, and I grew up in Grenada, Mississippi, and had a pet raccoon, and now, our family has 2 cats named Socks and Mittens, 2 spunky horses named Maverick and Rain, and 1 dog named Dingo where we live in the country on 5 acres! My #1 Bucket List Goal is to go to Italy and my #2 is to Sky Dive!
I feel it is an honor and privilege to teach children, and I look forward to teaching 3rd Grade Math and Science this year to your child! Remember, "Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much." - Helen Keller
