Hi, my name is Alba Garza and I am the Bilingual Dyslexia Specialist at Village. This will be my ninth year working as a bilingual teacher and I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your child! 

I was born in Brownsville, Texas where I graduated from the University of Texas at Brownsville. I have been married for three years to my husband, Richard. I have a beautiful stepdaughter, Destiny, who graduated from UT Austin in May of 2020 with a degree in teaching students with special needs. I have a four-year-old Shih Tzu, Joy, whom I love so much, and I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family and friends. Every summer I travel back home and hang out on the beach, South Padre Island, to reset myself for the next school year.

Nací en Brownsville, Texas donde completé mis estudios en la Universidad de Texas en Brownsville. Tengo tres años de casada con mi esposo, Ricardo. Mi hijastra Destiny se graduó en mayo de la Universidad de Texas en Austin con un título en la enseñanza de estudiantes con necesidades especiales. Tengo una perrita de cuatro años que se llama Joy, a quien amo mucho, y disfruto relajarme y pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos. Todos los veranos viajo de regreso a Brownsville y salgo a la playa, South Padre Island, para relajarme y disfrutar mis vacaciones.
