Proposition A passed by 56%
Proposition B passed by 56%In Proposition A:
-
New elementary schools will help meet the demands of a growing district. The first of two would be built in the Santa Rita Ranch neighborhood with an anticipated opening in the Fall of 2024.
-
A new Benold Middle School will be located in the Parmer Ranch neighborhood, allowing for better efficiency in attendance zoning as our district grows west.
-
Funds from this bond will be used to redesign the current Benold Middle School for use as a future Frost Elementary School, which would increase capacity and expand zoning opportunities.
-
The future-ready complex on Airport Road will expand opportunities for advanced career and technical education programs as well as becoming home to Richarte HS, the Bridges Transition Program for 18+, an early learning childcare center, and the GISD Health & Wellness Center with Lone Star Circle of Care.
-
Renovations to several campuses according to the district’s long-range plan are included for roofing and HVAC systems.
-
Sunshades would be installed at elementary playscapes.
-
Ag barns would be constructed at both comprehensive high schools.
We are also excited about the opportunities that Proposition B will bring for all students and staff in GISD:
-
Continuation of the district’s one-to-one initiative to provide a learning device for every student;
-
Supporting connectivity through infrastructure and fiber expansion;
-
Replacing aging or broken equipment for safety and security systems; and
-
Replacing and updating aging and broken data center and backup equipment.
