Benefits and Insurance

GISD provides a comprehensive benefits package to employees.GISD offers a choice of health insurance plans and dental care plans. Additionally, employees may choose vision, life insurance, disability insurance, and other supplemental insurance benefits as well as cafeteria plan payroll deductions. All employees contribute to the Texas Teacher's Retirement System (TRS). They may also contribute to a personal retirement account such as a 403(b) or 457.New hires have 30 days from the date of their hire to choose their benefits coverage on FFenroll. Regular employees may elect to change their medical and supplemental coverage during the district's annual open enrollment periods each year on FFenroll. If you have a qualifying life event during the plan year you have 31 days to make changes to your benefits by notifying the Benefits Coordinator, Brooke Irwin @ 512-943-5000 ext.6092 or irwinb@georgetownisd.org

Do you need a new/temporary insurance card?
To retrieve a new/temporary insurance card from your desired insurance plan, please contact the insurance vendor or log onto their website. Here are the links for the Supplemental and Medical contact information.
The only insurance vendors who require an insurance card are:
- Allegiance/Cigna (Medical)
- Optum Rx (Prescription)
- Ameritas Dental
- Ameritas Vision
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
- Health Savings Account (HSA)

Do you need to find a doctor, medical facility, or pharmacy within network?
To locate a doctor or facility within network, please contact the insurance vendor or log onto their website
The only insurance vendors who have a list of in-network doctor, medical facilities, or pharmacies are:
- Allegiance/Cigna (Medical)
- Optum Rx (Presciption)
- Ameritas Dental
- Ameritas Vision

Do you need to change your benefits due to a Qualifying Life Event (QLE)?
If you recently experienced a qualifying life event (QLE) of marriage, divorce, the death of a spouse or dependent, birth or adoption of a child, termination/commencement of spouse or dependent’s employment, termination of benefits, etc. You have 31 days from the QLE date to make any changes to your benefit elections.
To begin the process, please complete the Benefits Change form and return the document to Brooke Irwin at: Irwinb@georgetownisd.org, including documented evidence of the QLE. Here are instructions to complete the Benefits Change form. Review more QLE information.

* Because qualifying life events are regulated by the IRS, we cannot allow employees to add/drop dependents from medical coverage options on the Benefits website without completing the qualifying life event paperwork via the Benefits Coordinator, Brooke Irwin @ 512-943-5000 ext.6092 or Irwinb@georgetownisd.org.

Forgot your FFenroll login or pin?
We're here to help. Once you log onto the website, Your login is your full social security number (no dashes) and your PIN is the last four digits of your social security number and the last two digits of your birth year.
For example, Jane Doe's full social is 123456789 and date of birth is 03.15.1977. Jane's login is 123456789 and pin is 678977. Once you have logged in, you will also be able to see the coverages for which you are currently enrolled.
