    My Education & Teaching Background

    Baylor Bears
"You have no idea the power you have, it delights my heart to encourage you to continue." - Maya Angelou
I have been teaching for 14 years in the Georgetown Independent School District.  And I still love every minute of it.
After graduating from Baylor University with a degree in Education, I taught elementary school for a handful of years (2 in Waco ISD to be exact) before moving to GT and taking a corporate 9 - 5 job.  A chance encounter with a teacher friend 14 years ago as I was handing out company flyers at McCoy Elementary school got me back into the world of teaching.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to be a small, influential part of the growth of so many of our Georgetown youth and I look forward to many many more years of teaching in GISD.
If you come up to McCoy Elementary, you'll find me in the blue 4th grade wing teaching math to some of the area's brightest scholars.  My expectations are high for every student who walks through my door and everyone will succeed.
My email box is always open for questions, comments, concerns or sweet notes to keep parent/teacher communication free and open.  I look forward to an amazing year with you and your scholar!
What am I qualified to teach?
I hold certifications to teach everything from Physical Education, 1st-8th grade, Gifted and Talented and ESL.  I love learning.  I love teaching.  I love life in general and I hope my smile, my appreciation for our education system and my thirst for knowledge rubs off on anyone who walks into my brightly colored themed class room.

I have two beautiful daughters that I spend every day thankful for because they're the most amazing blessings in my life.  I have a cat named Pumpkin who thinks he's a lap dog and a Great Pyrenees named Baylor who is the sweetest gentle giant!!
This past March 2016,  I had one of the most wonderful experiences occur in my life...I married the man of my dreams!!  He is a Dental Hygienist, which means, we will ALWAYS have to have those regular check-ups each year! LOL!!

I'm from Arkansas, specifically the Northwest area, but once I graduated High School in 1992, I moved to Waco,Texas to attend Baylor University!  I'm a Razorback at heart and enjoy "Callin' the Hogs" in Fayetteville, at home football games with my wonderful parents.  NOW,  I'll have the opportunity to do that with my daughter, who is an OFFICIAL Arkansas Razorback Freshman.
