homewrok Homework opportunities - YMCA offers a Y-Work / Homework rotation for 1st through 5th grades, Monday - Thursday. All scholars (1st through 5th) have 30 minutes in which to work on homework and reading assignments.  We provide homework assistance at this time providing that the scholars let us know they are in need of help (raise a hand, ask questions, etc.).  However, we do not offer one on one assistance or tutoring and we do not correct the work that child has completed. We will encourage them to do their homework and help them stay on task. If scholars do not complete their work in the allotted time, they will need to work on it at home.  If your child informs us that he/she does not have homework, we will provide them with a No Homework Contract that they will sign to be shared with parents and teachers so that they are aware each day that this takes place. Please look over your scholar's homework that has been completed at YMCA  Also, look at the assignment book, homework folder, Take-Home folder, and anything that may be sent by the classroom teacher on a daily basis.  Students will not be allowed to return to their classrooms once the school bell has released them for the day, so please help us by reminding them that they need to be responsible for bringing all of their belongings with them at the end of the day. For more information on your scholar's work assignments, visit the classroom teacher's website.
