In order to become a Substitute for GISD, you must hold a High School diploma or its equivalent (GED). In addition, you will need to complete an online Substitute Teacher application (when available on our website under "Careers" and then "Job Opportunities") and attend a Substitute orientation session.Substitute applications will be accepted on our website beginning January 29-February 15, 2019The Orientation session for this group will be held sometime in March, information regarding this session will be determined at a later date.Substitute Teacher Pay: $85.00/day and $100.00/day for Long Term Assignments
Substitute Nurse Pay: $150.00/day including Long Term AssignmentsSenate Bill 9, also known as the "Fingerprinting Bill", was signed into law by Governor Perry in the Fall of 2007. This bill requires that all substitutes undergo a national criminal history record information review by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Therefore, before you can be employed as a substitute in Georgetown ISD, you will be required to provide your fingerprints to be checked against the national criminal history database.
Note: You will be required to pay the fees associated with the fingerprinting process. The cost is from $41.00 to $43.00 depending on the method of payment. Additional details concerning the fingerprinting process will be provided when you attend a substitute orientation.
