• Parent Information for Parents

Welcome to sixth grade! Here's looking forward to a great school year! Please bring your supplies with you on the first day of school - Thursday, August 15, 2019.

Sixth grade is an important year as students make a change from elementary to middle school. It is my job to help students transition with ease. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to love your children!

In social studies class, your child will learn about geography and the different cultures of the world. I follow a lesson cycle that includes formal graded assessments (such as exams or projects) every 3-4 weeks. In order for students to practice study skills and prepare at home, a review sheet or study guide will always be sent home at least two days before a major test. Most times, a parent signature on a study guide will earn a small reward for your child.

I strongly encourage parents and students to use the online calendar as a resource. It is updated regularly, and includes information regarding homework. Please expect your student to work on social studies assignments as homework about once a week. Additionally, I hope that you will monitor online grades and attendance using Georgetown ISD's Skyward Family Access
