EAST VIEW VOLLEYBALL COACHING STAFF
Varsity Coach: Kara Del Bosque
Coach Kara (Jones) Del Bosque is beginning her 4th year as the Head Volleyball Coach at East View High School. Coach Del Bosque has 8 years head volleyball coaching experience, including trips to the playoffs and state tournament (2014). In addition to her duties as the head volleyball coach, Coach Del Bosque will also serve as the girls’ coordinator and teacher at East View. Kara is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where she was a dual sport athlete (basketball) for one year and a four-year starter on the volleyball team. Coach Del Bosque finished her college career a three-time All-Tournament team member.and established a new school record in total blocks versus Air Force on her way to leading the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in solo blocks as a junior. Her blocks per set average and total blocks are second best in Tech history and was fourth in the WAC. Kara ranks third all-time on the Louisiana Tech career blocks list, and finished her senior season by leading the Techsters in attack percentage, total kills and total blocks. Coach Del Bosque is married to Justin Del Bosque who also works for the district. She has three children Skylar, Mason, and Myka.
Varsity Assistant and JV Coach: Emily Durell
Coach Emily Durell is starting her 8th year of teaching and coaching at East View. Emily received a volleyball scholarship to play collegiately at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, but later transferred to Tarleton State University. She played three years for the Tarleton Texanns where she was a two-year All-Conference and All-Conference tournament team middle blocker. Emily was also ranked nationally for hitting percentage among all collegiate volleyball players and continues to hold a hitting percentage record at TSU. She was the Tarleton Scholar Athlete of the Year her senior year. After graduating from Tarleton, Emily pursued her MBA at Texas A&M University-Commerce where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Emily teaches Principles of Business, Marketing, and Finance, Professional Communication, and also coaches track for the Patriots. Her husband, David, also coaches and teaches in the district. In her free time she enjoys running, reading, spending time outdoors, and spending time with her family and 3 dogs.
Flex Team Coach: Frances Tuttle
Coach Frances Tuttle is in her 4th year teaching and coaching at East View. She is a graduate of Georgetown High School where she was a four-year letter winner in track and field and is the current school record holder for the 100-meter hurdles. Upon graduation, Frances ran collegiate track for Sam Houston State University where she earned Southland Conference Academic Honors. Frances graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and is currently teaching World History and AP European History. Coach Tuttle is married to her high school sweetheart, Daniel Tuttle.
Freshman Team Coach: Courtney Mallon
Coach Courtney Mallon was a four-year letter winner at Stony Point High School; coached by Rennie Rebe, her senior season, she was named All-District, All-County, All Region II first team, and the Team MVP. She also participated in basketball and cross country. Courtney earned a soccer scholarship to Western Carolina University. She was a part of the 2007 team that won the Southern Conference Tournament. Courtney took a medical red shirt and transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University and finished her career there. Courtney and her partner, Greg Hall, have one son, Quinton (6). Courtney is excited to move back to her hometown, after living in San Antonio, and coaching club soccer.
