EVHS 9th, 10th and 11th grade students will take the PSAT 8/9 or PSAT/NMSQT test on Oct 13,, 2021. The PSAT is a full day of testing that provides information for college readiness in reading, writing and math.
Information for students (including information for students that qualify for accommodations) is on the PSAT notices mailed to the address on file in Skyward the week of Sept 20, 2021. If you have any questions, please contact Katie Ross (email@example.com).
Students taking the PSAT are encouraged to bring their own scientific calculator. EVHS has a limited supply of calculators. Freshman students will take the digital version of the exam that provides an online calculator. 9th grade students will need to bring their fully charged, school issued Chromebook (and charger) on Oct 13 for the exam. The PSAT does not require a calculator to complete the math section.
EVHS 9th grade students will take the PSAT 8/9 (or the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test), which is a test that serves as an indicator for students and teachers as to future Advance Placement (AP) readiness. The PSAT 8/9 is grade appropriate and provides authentic and practical data that can be used to inform students, parents and counselors through a diagnostic score report. High enough scores on the Reading and/or Math portion may replace English 1 and/or Algebra EOC scores that do not meet standard.
EVHS 10th and 11th grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT (or the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), which is a practice SAT test. It is a standardized test administered by both the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The PSAT/NMSQT is grade appropriate and provides authentic and practical data that can be used to inform students, parents and counselors through a diagnostic score report. High enough scores on the Reading and/or Math portion may replace English 1 and/or Algebra EOC scores that do not meet standard.
