• Algebra I PAP

Welcome to Algebra PAP.  This is a class in which high school credit may be earned while in middle school.  Being a pre-AP class, higher level thinking will be a expected each and every day.

A graphing calculator is highly recommended but not required.  We use the TI-84 plus in class.  Any sort of TI 84 plus, especially the TI 84 plus CE would be an excellent choice.

The are multiple online calculators.  Click here for one online calculator

    Drop Window

The district allows only two periods to drop a PAP class.  The first window opens Friday, September 6.  Forms may be picked up from the counselors.  The last day to turn in a completed drop request form is Thursday, September 26.  Any eighth grade student who drops algebra will be transferred to an on-level 8th grade math class.

The second and last opportunity will occur at the end of the fall semester.  Students will complete the paperwork in December but will remain in algebra until the beginning of the spring semester in January.

Be aware that as a high school class, the grade a student earns in algebra will be included on his or her transcript and will be included in the calculations for high school class rank.

    Retests

This is a PAP class.  By district policy, only one one retest on a major unit exam is allowed per nine weeks.  The highest grade that may be earned on a retest is a 70.
