Dr. Padavil with student

Dr. Padavil's life was positively changed by the influence of a teacher and assistant principal during difficult moments in his childhood. He believes in the powerful impact of an educator and is honored to spend his career supporting students and staff to improve student learning outcomes. It is important to Dr. Padavil that all educators serve authentically through their uniquely defined purpose. His purpose is for every child grow as his own.

Dr. Padavil, an educator for 22 years, came to Georgetown after serving in Taylor ISD as Superintendent for three years. Prior to that, he served as Area Superintendent in Leander ISD and Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Schools in Fort Bend ISD where he supervised 26 middle schools and high schools. He has also served as the Principal that opened 5A Lebanon Trail High School (Frisco ISD), Principal of 6A Hendrickson High School (Pflugerville ISD), and Kelly Lane Middle School (Pflugerville ISD).

In 2015, he was named Region XIII High School Principal of the Year after leading Hendrickson to its first appearance in U.S. News and World Report's Best High Schools. In the 2016-17 school year, he served as President of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, the largest state association of principals in the nation. He began his career as a middle school English teacher and was Campus Teacher of the Year in 2001.

Dr. Padavil holds a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education from Illinois State University, a Master of Education in Administration from the University of Texas — Austin, and a Doctor of Education from The University of Texas — Austin.

One of Dr. Padavil's values is service to the community. As a testament to this value, he supported the community-wide effort to pass the $649.5M Bond of 2024 to help shape the way for the future of the district's growth.

Devin is a member of the Georgetown Rotary and serves on the Board for The Georgetown Project. He has two children: a daughter who is attending Texas A&M to study physics and a son who is finishing high school. His family is excited to be part of the Georgetown community.
