The Georgetown ISD Facebook Page is managed by the GISD Communications Department. It is intended to engage and inform students, parents and community members with the district. GISD will update this page to share important information related to GISD schools, including good news and relevant community information.
Facebook is an engagement platform, and GISD is open to receiving both positive and appropriate negative feedback on this site. Efforts will be made to respond to comments in a timely manner, as each situation warrants. While we welcome your thoughts and look forward to what you have to say, we will not be able to respond to every post. If you have a specific question, comment or concern you would address with GISD personnel, you are encouraged to submit it through Let’sTalk. Let’s Talk will automatically notify the appropriate GISD staff member of your submission to provide you with a faster response. More about Let’s Talk.
GISD reserves the right to remove comments that:
- Violate the Student Code of Conduct regarding the use of technology and the Internet.
- Do not pertain to the topic of a specific posting made by the page administrator (including photographs or links to photographs).
- Break the law or encourage others to do so. This includes respecting copyright and fair use laws. If you are talking about someone else’s work, reference the work or the person.
- Contain abusive or inappropriate language or statements. This includes remarks that are racist, homophobic and sexist as well as those that contain obscenities or are sexually explicit.
- Easily identify students and/or staff in defamatory, abusive, or generally negative terms.
- Do not show proper consideration for others’ privacy or are considered likely to offend or provoke others.
- Promote or advertise a service or product.
- Contain political information, positive or negative, including information regarding the Board of Trustees elections. As a public entity, Georgetown ISD cannot use public resources for political campaigning and any political comments or posts will be removed.
The page administrators reserve the right to remove any comments at any time for any reason. Comments are solely the opinions of the users who post them. The district is not responsible for misinformation included in comments. Those individuals who violate the GISD rules of engagement may be banned from participating on this page. These rules of engagement may be updated at any time without prior notice.
Facebook is not intended to replace official and more constructive forms of engagement. If you have feedback or questions about content posted on Facebook, message us. However, consider if your feedback would be better served through Let’s Talk where the appropriate campus or department can provide a response.
If a photo is submitted to the GISD Facebook page, administrators will assume permission has been granted for the photo to be repurposed by the district.
The district neither endorses nor condones advertising messages that appear on the GISD Facebook. Neither Georgetown ISD nor the district’s Facebook page administrators control these advertisements.
Thank you for visiting and/or liking the GISD Facebook page.
