Long-Range Planning Committee

Purpose

The GISD Long-Range Planning Committee (LRPC) will serve in an advisory role to district leaders as they plan for the future. With a commitment of alignment to the GISD Vision, Mission, Beliefs and Strategic Blueprint, the LRPC will prioritize examining issues related to: the challenges of growth, fiscal responsibility, optimization of facilities, and providing experiences to students that best prepare them for their future.

Membership

The committee will be comprised of approximately 65 stakeholders that represent the district’s geographic areas, campuses, and full community of Georgetown:

  • Campus + district departmental staff (up to 20 members)
  • GISD parents (approximately 20 members)
  • Georgetown, Texas community members (approximately 20 members)
  • GISD Student Leaders, as appropriate (approximately 5 members)
  • Senior District Leadership (*non-voting committee members)
  • GISD Board of Trustees members (*non-voting committee members)

At the end of this school year, members of the committee will be offered the opportunity to return for a second consecutive year. At that time, the district will work to replace any vacancies on the committee.

2024-2025

Duties & Responsibilities

The LRPC will serve in an advisory role to district leaders. Members of the committee are asked to engage in reciprocal communication work regarding long-range planning matters and may be asked to present information to district or community groups.

Meetings

The Long-Range Planning Committee will meet as frequently as their priorities require them to meet, with a minimum of quarterly meetings. Meetings will occur in the evening hours.
