Georgetown ISD CTE Overview

The Georgetown ISD CTE Department offers multiple programs and course sequences that provide students with coherent and rigorous content leading to a graduation endorsement. The curricula for all CTE courses and programs integrate high-level academic concepts and industry standards to reinforce academic concepts of the State academic achievement tests and help students learn workplace competencies and certifications.

Programs of Study are structured educational pathways that may culminate in recognized credentials or degrees. Students who excel in a particular Program of Study may even achieve the opportunity to pursue career-related Endorsements, including Industry-Based Certifications, before graduation. There are specific requirements for eligibility. Further details are provided within each cluster and in the Georgetown ISD Course Guide each year. 
Career Clusters are broader categories that align jobs and industries based on shared skills and knowledge. Each cluster contains multiple career pathways, offering students numerous opportunities to explore and prepare for specific careers.

To better prepare students for postsecondary education or entry into the workforce by providing state of the art instruction and practical, hands-on lab experience from highly qualified staff. To assist students in becoming successful, critical thinking, competent and caring individuals through real world experience, guidance and leadership.
