Overview
At the elementary level, visual art and music classes are taught by art and music education specialists, encouraging students to explore the cultural significance and creative nature of the arts. Students routinely participate in local contests, perform at community events, collaborate with one another to present fine arts evenings on their campuses, and pursue outside-of-school arts experiences such as Art Club or Elementary Honor Choir.
At the secondary level, fine arts classes center on both curricular and extracurricular activities. Students participate in a variety of activities through UIL and many other organizations. Please see the chart below for more information.
The Klett Center for the Performing Arts (PAC) at Georgetown High School has 1,191 seats and hosts high school and district-wide events. East View High School (EVT) has a 372-seat theater and can accommodate smaller, more intimate performance events. Both of these outstanding facilities provide handicapped seating and are available for rental by community organizations. For more information, visit the Facilities Rental page.
