PLC: In Georgetown ISD, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) provide teachers with ongoing support through regular collaboration with colleagues, instructional coaches, and campus leaders. PLCs create dedicated time for planning, sharing effective practices, analyzing student learning, and growing together to support student success.

Aligned Curriculum Documents: GISD curriculum documents are designed to support the work of Professional Learning Communities by aligning to the four PLC questions: What do we want students to learn? How will we know if they learned it? What will we do if they did not learn it? And what will we do if they already know it? These resources provide teachers with clear learning expectations, assessment guidance, instructional supports, and opportunities for enrichment and intervention to strengthen collaborative planning and student learning.

Teachers who are new to the profession in Georgetown ISD receive ongoing support through regular collaboration with a mentor teacher who helps them navigate campus systems, instructional expectations, and the rhythms of the school year. In addition, mentees are provided dedicated opportunities to visit classrooms and learn alongside peers through observation and collaboration.
