Clipchamp

What is Clipchamp?

Clipchamp is a web based video editor which students, teachers, and staff can use on Chromebooks and Windows computers to record and edit screencasts or create and edit video projects.

Accessing Clipchamp

Students, teachers, and staff will access your GISD Formative account by logging in to ClassLink and clicking on the Clipchamp GISD app. If you do not see the Clipchamp GISD app on your ClassLink dashboard do not try to add it yourself. Contact the GISD Service Desk and request that the app be added for you.

The first time you log in to Clipchamp through ClassLink, you will need to type your full GISD email address and your GISD password. After the first time, this login information will be saved for you. The video below demonstrates what this will look like.

How to Use Clipchamp

The video tutorials below demonstrate how to use Clipchamp. To make sharing of video projects easy and consistent, they also show how to save projects to Google Drive.

The steps for saving video projects to Google Drive are different for Chromebooks and Windows computers, so be sure to watch the tutorial for the type of device you are using.

The video tutorial below demonstrates how to use the Clipchamp video editor to create and edit non-screencast video projects. The tutorial shows a different way to access Clipchamp than what we have set up in GISD, so remember to access Clipchamp through ClassLink. Also, you should save your video projects and move them to Google Drive using the same methods demonstrated in the screencast tutorials above.
