Edpuzzle
What is Edpuzzle?
Edpuzzle is an assessment-centered tool that allows teachers to create interactive online videos by embedding questions, audio notes, or comments in a video.
All teachers can use the free version of Edpuzzle, which allows you to store up to 20 lessons at a time in your account. A few GISD campuses subscribe to the pro version of Edpuzzle, which allows unlimited storage of lessons. Check with your campus administrators to find out if your school subscribes to the pro version of Edpuzzle.

Troubleshooting Tips
NONE of my students can access an Edpuzzle I assigned to them.
Check the following:
- Secondary Teachers: If you assigned the Edpuzzle through Schoology, make sure you set the assignment up correctly. This video provides a quick walk through: How to Assign an Edpuzzle Video Lesson in Schoology
- Elementary Teachers: If you assigned the Edpuzzle through Google Classroom, make sure you set the assignment up correctly. This video provides a quick walk through: Assigning an Edpuzzle Video Lesson in Google Classroom
- All Teachers: Make sure the YouTube video used to create the Edpuzzle isn't being blocked by our internet filter. This video shows you how: Unblock YouTube Videos Used in Edpuzzles
A FEW of my students cannot access an Edpuzzle I assigned to them (but most of the class is accessing it successfully).
Have students try the following:
1. Chromebook Cleanup
- Close currently unneeded Chrome tabs
- Clear cache and cookies
- Make sure Chrome is up to date
- Restart Chromebook
- Instructions for all of the above procedures can be found here: Tech Trouble?
- Pro Tips: Keep the Tech Trouble? slide linked in your online classroom. Plan 5 minutes every Monday to have your students clear cache and cookies and update Chrome. You and they will experience fewer technical glitches throughout the school week!
2. Make sure students are logged in to YouTube with their GISD Google account.
- Have student open up a new tab in Chrome and go to www.youtube.com.
- If there is a button at the top right of the page that says "Sign In" have them click it and sign in with their full GISD email address and password.
