Mrs. Melanie Luna

    Fall 2022 will begin Mrs. Luna's tenth year as the Music Specialist at George Washington Carver Elementary School. Luna graduated with a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Music Education from Southwestern University in May 2013. She was a student teacher at Cooper Elementary in early 2013. Mrs. Luna is passionate about enriching students' lives through music by creating a safe, loving, and fun environment. In music class, students will experience music by singing, listening, moving/dancing, and playing instruments.


    In her spare time, Mrs. Luna loves spending time with her husband, Cris, watching movies, practicing yoga, eating ice cream, and playing with her two dogs, Maggie and Sammy, and her cats, Peaches and Roo.

  • All second-fifth graders are invited to participate in this year's school-wide musical, Madagascar, a Musical Adventure Jr.! After-school practices will begin in January and continue through our performances on March 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. Practice days will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, but your student's practice days will vary based on the scenes being worked on each day. To find out more and sign up, click here!
