The Facilities Maintenance Department is responsible for the physical infrastructure of GISD schools, including their maintenance, repairs and supervision of new construction. The department provides three handyman teams who rotate campuses daily conducting minor maintenance and repairs. The department also employs a grounds maintenance crew and skilled trades technicians (HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry/Paint and Electrical). This department is also responsible for the District’s Asbestos Management and Integrated Pest Management programs. The installation, operations and monitoring of all security and fire alarm systems are managed through this Department.
