Ms. Jolene Volek

Hello! This is my eleventh year of teaching and my sixth year here at East View. I am a case manager for special education as well as an inclusion and resource teacher. I am the head softball coach. I graduated from Granger High School in 2004 where I was active in sports, FCCLA, FFA, NHS and FCA. Upon graduation, I attended and played softball at Hill College. I received my Associate's degree there as well as the all-conference softball team. In 2006 I transferred to Tarleton State University. I was active in PEK, HPE club, and was the state student representative for the Texas Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in exercise and sports studies and obtained my Texas Teachers Certification in 2008. I am certified to teach all levels of special education and physical education. I immediately began my studies for my masters degree once I graduated with my bachelors. In 2009 I was hired to teach special education and coach softball and volleyball for Holland ISD. I graduated from Tarleton State in 2010 with a masters degree in Education Administration. I was employed for Holland ISD for five years before I accepted this position at East View.

I teach because I have the opportunity each and every day to have a positive impact on my students and coworkers. I believe that each student has an opportunity at success and has the opportunity to be a leader. My goal is to help build young women and men who will be successful outside of the school building and in life.

I am the daughter of two loving parents and the little sister to three older brothers and a sister and law. I have two beautiful twin nieces who I enjoy spoiling and spending time with. My hobbies include outdoor activities, fishing, hunting, reading, helping at church, spending time with family and taking naps.

I am looking forward to another amazing year here at East View High school!
