Degrees and Certifications:
I am a proud double alumna of Lamar University, where I earned my bachelors & Master of Technology Leadership degree. In the coming year I will begin my doctoral studies.
Ms. Cori Coburn-Shiflett, M.Ed.
I appreciate the Georgetown community welcoming me in my 6th year with the district. Affectionately called "Ms. CC" by students, I previously served the campuses of Village, Frost, Pickett, McCoy, and Ford Elementary; also Tippit Middle School and Williamson Co Juv. Justice Academy, Forbes and Benold Middle Schools. I believe that every student deserves GREAT teachers, and I love that my career allows me to grow the knowledge and skills of educators integrating technology into our classrooms.
Before coming to Georgetown, I worked in social services for the State of Texas, and taught math & science at a magnet middle school. I was inspired to pursue educational technology when my mother, a 40 year veteran teacher retired citing she "didn't want to learn anything else about a computer". I was the first Technology Coordinator in Beaumont ISD, helping to lead the implementation of a 1:1 iPad & SMARTboard integration program in a Title-1 middle school with over 600 students.
In 2014, I relocated to the heart of Texas to join the EdTech team in Georgetown ISD.
I serve as the TCEA Area 13 Director for Central Texas (professional organization for educational technology).
