Degrees and Certifications:
Rosa Maria Barrera
I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Business. I received my teaching certificate after participating in the Alternative Certification Program with Region 20 in San Antonio. My first two years of teaching experience were in San Antonio teaching kinder my first year, and a combination of prekinder and kinder my second year. After that, my husband had a job opportunity and we moved to Round Rock. I was lucky to secure a position in Georgetown ISD teaching at Annie Purl Elementary where I have been a teacher for the past 20 years. During those 20 years, I have been a second grade teacher, a Reading Recovery and Descubriendo La Lectura teacher, and a bilingual interventionist.
It is really important to me to get to know my students and that they feel comfortable with me. I want to offer an environment where students feel free to take risks, learn, and be successful.
Martha Romero is a bilingual paraprofessional who has been working at Annie Purl for the past 20 years. Martha is currently working with the Intervention team serving students in the areas of reading and math. If you would like to contact Mrs. Romero, you could email her at:
