Robert Thomas (EIC Facilitator)

I grew up the son of a HS shop teacher and love spending time in shops! I initially set out to become an art educator by studying ceramic sculpture and art education in college. Then continued working in the arts as the studio manager and VP on the board of directors of a non-profit visual arts organization. Following my time in the non-profit sector, I wanted to provide shop access to those beyond just the arts. So, I co-founded a chain of membership-based DIY fabrication makerspaces that provided access to equipment, instruction, and a supportive community of creative peers to help people build their dreams. I've worked to empower hobbyists, students, inventors, artists and engineers by helping them produce both artwork and prototype visionary products. Above all, access to quality art and industrial arts education continues to be my focus and guiding professional interest. I look forward to working with you!
