About Mr. Chan:
Hi! This is my second year at Benold and I am thrilled to be back teaching math to our incoming 6th graders. The transition to middle school can be both intimidating and exciting and I'm here to serve and support students as they navigate this fun time. Teaching math to the next generation is one of my passions, but it's secondary to empowering young minds and inspiring students to face challenges with confidence. I cannot wait to meet you and get started.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in economics. I then spent seven years in Hong Kong where I taught math and English to students as young as pre-school all the way up to the college level. I had the opportunity to teach in a variety of school settings and also scratch that travel itch, having visited another 15 countries during that time. I look forward to sharing some fun stories and experiences to the classroom!
When I'm not teaching I enjoy watching sports, reading, traveling and, most of all, spending time with my wife and 5 year-old son.
