Casey believes all great educators have at least two things in common: a love for learning and the desire to establish positive relationships with their students. Her passion lies in guiding, counseling and encouraging students to take pride in themselves and their future. She believes in collaborating with teachers, administrators, parents and community members to foster student achievement and growth. She says working together is necessary so that each student can become the independent, accountable and confident citizens they are meant to be. One of her roles as their counselor is to demonstrate and teach students the coping skills necessary to be responsible and successful while providing support and compassion as they navigate through the highs and lows of middle school.
Outside of work, Mrs. Harris enjoys spending time with her family outdoors swimming, riding bikes at the park and doing yard work. She loves to read, cook and work on DIY projects when she can find the time. Her family loves to try new restaurants, watch movies, Netflix binge, go to concerts and attend sporting events.
Both Casey and her husband, Clint, are from Pflugerville. They have a 5 year old daughter, Caroline, who they call the white tornado because of her white blonde hair and super spirited attitude. They also have an 8 month old son, Cameron, who is the complete opposite of his sister. Cam is calm, easy going and hardly fusses. Mrs. Harris was rescued by her 3 Boston Terriers; Nixon, Foster and Piper. Both Nixon and Foster are certified therapy dogs and Piper is working on hers! Mrs. Harris loves the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys!
