Mrs. Bridges

Hi!  My name is Beth Bridges and I'm new to Benold, returning to teaching after quite a few years!  I love science, but even more than that, I *love* students... I look forward to getting to know your child and developing common ground on which authentic learning can take place.

Please feel free to email me!

  • Education/Background

I graduated from Cypress Creek HS (in Houston) in 1990 then Texas Tech University in 1994.  I earned a B.S. in Composite Science with an emphasis in Biology and a minor in Secondary Education.  I've taught in Texas as well as Richmond, VA.  The last two decades have provided me opportunities with my own children in the school of LIFE and exploring some of my own interests like organic gardening and volunteering with young people.

  • Family

I met my husband Mark on a backpacking trip in Zion, Utah in college.  Twenty three years later, we have three amazing kiddos:  Gracie (19 - freshman @ A&M, Burke (17 - junior @ GHS) and Adelaide (12 - 7th grader @ BMS).  We also have three dogs (ugh, the dog hair!) and currently a bunny.  We have some extended family in the area and many friends that feel like family, and love calling Georgetown home.

  • My "Why"...

I love opportunities to reach out to young people in many facets of life.  I so valued the relationships I had during the tough middle and high school years, that I value being that connection point for students.  I believe that after a student feels safe (both physically and emotionally), real learning can take place.
