Mrs. Shaelene Gomez

Hi, my name is Shaelene Gomez and I am so excited to have the opportunity to lead, teach and grow alongside your child this year. I earned my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a certification to teach EC-6th grade. After I graduated I had the opportunity to work as a second grade teacher at Northside ISD in San Antonio. I taught here for a year and then my husband and I decided to move back to Round Rock to be closer to family. After moving back I was granted the opportunity to work in Taylor ISD as a second grade teacher. In the two years I worked in Taylor I gained my English as a Second Language certification. I decided that I wanted to work closer to home, which is how I came to be here in Georgetown ISD. I am so beyond thrilled to be here and have this wonderful opportunity to work within this amazing community.

I met my husband at Cedar Park High School when we were barely freshman. We've been together for 15 years and married now for 5 years. We both attended UTSA and about a year after our graduation we decided to move back to our home town of Austin. Shortly after we moved back to Austin we were blessed with two little girls. Sophia is four years old and Makenzie is 1.5 years old.

I will work hard this year to go far beyond your expectations for your child's teacher. My goal is to create a positive, engaging and empowering learning environment in order to inspire the children to become life long learners. Communication and collaboration between you and I is important in ensuing their success. Please feel free to call, email, class dojo or drop me a note any time. I am looking forward to working together with you and your child this year :)

I'm available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for a scheduled conference at 8:30-9:15am or after school.
