Mrs. Shaelene Gomez

Hi, my name is Shaelene Gomez and I am so excited to have the opportunity to lead, teach and grow alongside your child this year. I earned my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a certification to teach EC-6th grade. After I graduated I had the opportunity to work as a second grade teacher at Northside ISD in San Antonio. I taught here for a year and then my husband and I decided to move back to Round Rock to be closer to family. After moving back I was granted the opportunity to work in Taylor ISD as a second grade teacher. In the two years I worked in Taylor I gained my English as a Second Language certification. I decided that I wanted to work closer to home, which is how I came to be here in Georgetown ISD. I am so beyond thrilled to be here and have this wonderful opportunity to work within this amazing community.

I met my husband at Cedar Park High School when we were barely freshman. We've been together for 14 years and married now for 3 years. We both attended UTSA and about a year after our graduation we decided to move back to our home town of Austin. Shortly after we moved back to Austin we were blessed with a little girl, Sophia. She is now two years old and will become a big sister this October as we are expecting.

I will work hard this year to go far beyond your expectations for your child's teacher. My goal is to create a positive, engaging and empowering learning environment in order to inspire the children to become life long learners. Communication and collaboration between you and I is important in ensuing their success. Please feel free to call, email, class dojo or drop me a note any time. I am looking forward to working together with you and your child this year :)

I'm available Monday, Thursday and Friday for a scheduled conference at 1:30-2:15 or after school.
