Mrs. Katherine Danyluk

Welcome to fifth grade Language Arts and Social Studies! I'm Katherine Danyluk and I am so excited to join the Purl community this school year. Fifth grade is a transformational year in your child's education and I can't wait to help them learn, grow, and mature throughout the year!

I am originally from Cape Elizabeth, Maine, but earned my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. After I graduated, I worked as a Media Buyer at an advertising agency. However, I come from a family of teachers and always had a passion for education, so I decided to go back to the University of Richmond to obtain my teaching license. I taught fifth grade for three years in Richmond and absolutely fell in love with it!

My husband and I moved to Georgetown in June 2017. He is a JAG officer in the Army and is stationed at Fort Hood. Last year, I taught second grade at Meadows Elementary on Fort Hood. I had a wonderful year there, but am thrilled to be able to teach in the community where I live!

Fifth grade is a crucial year in your child's education. I work hard to create a warm, safe, engaging community of learning in my classroom that inspires my students to become lifelong learners. Communication and collabroation between parents and teachers is a key component in your child's success. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, or concerns throughout the year. I value your input and will do whatever I can to help your child have a happy and successful fifth grade year. I look forward to a wonderful year with your child!
