Hello, My name is Deron Reinders. I teach Law Enforcement I and Principals of Law to students in 9th through 12th grade. I have a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master Degree in Public Administration. In addition to my education, I have over 13 years of experience in criminal justice professions.
Law Enforcement I-
This course is an overview of the history, organization, and functions of loca, state, and federal law enforcement. This course includes the role of Constitutional law, the United States Legal Systems, Criminal Law, law enforcement terminology, and the classification and elements of crime.
A Principle of Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security –This introductory course introduces students to professions in law enforcement, security, corrections, and fire and emergency management services. Students will examine the roles and responsibilities of police, courts, corrections, private security, and protective agencies of fire and emergency services. The course provides students with an overview of the skills necessary for careers in law enforcement, fire service, security, and corrections.
Skills USA, Teen Court, GISD Police Explorers, and Criminal Justice Club: These programs will be introduced and will allow students to participate and obtain increase knowledge and skills. Further details will be provided as the programs are implemented throughout the year.
